Do I need to do anything to prepare myself or the space in my home where I plan to receive the IV?
All you’ll need is a comfortable place to sit and a small margin of space around your seat for us to set up our equipment. We’ll take care of everything else when we arrive.
-
Are you available for immediate appointments?
Yes. You can call us for an appointment and we will try our best to have a nurse at your door within an hour. Future appointments are also welcome.
-
How do you configure your IV formulas, and how do I know what’s in the bag?
All of our IV formulas are carefully formulated by a board certified physician and nutritionist to ensure safety and quality. The ingredients and dosages are available on our website and menu.
-
Is IV therapy safe for children and the elderly?
Yes, for both. Children 12 and older may receive an IV with parental/guardian consent. As always, it depends on the individual and their specific health history.
-
Will it hurt?
Our experienced registered nurses (RNs) have all performed 1000s of IVs individually and make sure that you have a safe and comfortable therapy session. Some clients may experience a brief sting when placing the needle, and rarely may experience bruising around the IV site.
-
Are there contraindications?
Yes. The RN will perform a thorough health history evaluation and if there is a concern based on their medical expertise, they will consult with the doctor before administering any IV.
-
Is it safe if you’re pregnant?
Yes, it is safe for any expecting or breast-feeding mother.
-
How often are there difficulties placing the IV?
The RN has 3 attempts to place an IV. 99% of them are placed without issue in the first 2 attempts. Unfortunately, some extenuating circumstances may prevent successful IV placement, such as small veins and severe dehydration.
-
How often should I get IV therapy if I’m utilizing it in order to maintain wellness?
We recommend no more than 1 antidote per week for healthy individuals.
-
Will my insurance pay for IV therapy?
Maybe. Some insurance companies will reimburse a client if they use the service because they are sick from an illness. Some insurance companies will not reimburse no matter the cause. We also accept health savings accounts for payment. Call your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you.
-
Are there any side effects or negative reactions that I should expect afterwards?
Rarely will a client experience any side effects. The most common side effects include itching and/or bruising around the IV insertion site.
-
Who administers the IV?
By law, only RNs are allowed to administer IVs. We hire RNs with 2 or more years of experience.
-
How long does an appointment usually take?
Although time can vary from one client to another, most Antidotes take 30 to 40 minutes. Your appointment will be an hour or less from beginning to end.
-
What are the advantages to getting your vitamins through IV therapy rather than through pills or other therapies?
IV therapy offers the highest possible bioavailability of nutrients. Rather than being filtered through the digestive system, as pills and other orally-ingested supplements are, our IV formulas are delivered directly to the bloodstream, which means that you receive 100% of all micronutrients administered. Some health problems and medications can inhibit the body’s ability to absorb nutrients through the digestive system. IV therapy is a perfect way to bypass these issues.
-
How long will it take for me to feel the effects of IV therapy?
It really depends on the reason you are receiving IV therapy. For example, if the client is feeling nauseous or experiencing vomiting, most clients feel much improved by the time the IV is completed.
-
Should I plan for recovery time afterwards?
No. As soon as your appointment is finished, you’ll be ready for anything, whether that’s a movie on the couch or a marathon.
-
Can overdosing on vitamins cause health problems?
Yes. All of our antidotes are well within range of acceptable dosages for what is provided and each RN carries a list of maximum dosages for all products administered. This is why it is important to have IV formulations that are safely created and administered by qualified health professionals.
-
If I want to use IV therapy to improve my athletic performance, what’s the best method?
It will depend on the type of activity performed. Different nutrients will benefit a power-lifter more than someone performing a triathlon and vice versa. Please consult your RN and they will be able to provide you with information on what ingredients will help you perform at your peak.
